Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro SE – Efficient Wireless Gaming Mouse

Price: $799.99 USD

Gaming mice have been getting popularity over the last couple of years and as of June 2022, there are many options available in the market in this particular category. Today, we’re going to discuss a dedicated gaming mouse that works brilliantly and gives you a terrific gaming experience.

Yes, we’re talking about the Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro SE Wireless Gaming Mouse. It’s a heavy mouse that weighs around 140 grams and will adjust to your hand perfectly. Gaming mice are not that heavy and most of them are under 100 grams.

However, this one is surely an exception in the gaming category. You’d enjoy the Dark Core to a great extent because it comes with almost nine customizable RGB zones and side wings to make it look like the real deal.

There are extra two forefinger buttons embedded into the main mouse button as well. There is a side wing as well that gives rests to your thumb and pinky. The latter button is also swappable if you want to.

You’d get almost everything in this $90 gaming mouse. If we talk deeply about its features then it comes with an ultra-fast 2.4 GHz Slipstream wireless connectivity that allows a near-instant 1 ms response and is indistinguishable from a wired connection. It also gives you a low-latency Bluetooth and USB Type-C wired connection to charge and play.

Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro SE Design:

If we talk about its overall design then the Dark Core is coming with an attractive black design. It is sturdy and gives you a wart-like texture that will snuggle in your palm easily.

It is a seriously comfortable mouse that feels big in your hands, however; it is not an entirely bigger mouse. Due to its higher weight, it does feel a little huge in your hands but as the time passes, you’d get used to it.

Thanks to PTFE feet, the Dark Core becomes an extremely mouse to hold.  It is not entirely suitable for left-handers because the size and weight of this mouse encourages a palm grip.

Some people are in love with the tactile thumb buttons but others are not too pleased with top finger buttons that are installed in the main button. It is because, the position of these buttons is suitable for deliberate movements and not for hardcore gaming.

The Dark Core brings its main buttons with the Omron mechanical variety and they are very clicky as well. The response time is great and it also gives you a lifetime of 50 million clicks. There are a total of eight programmable buttons that can be managed in the iCUE software.

You’d also be able to manage your RGB and DPI and the mouse comes with three save slots for profiles and it also forces you to use a wired connection to save these profiles. Furthermore, this amazing mouse comes with an 18,000 DPI optical sensor and there is another unique feature that gives you the option to change the resolution by 1 DPI steps.

For instance, it allows you to dial in weirdly specific custom resolutions like 793 DPI for games if you want to. The polling rate is also quite fast at 2,000 Hz and it also compliments the precise sensor and will make the Dark Core a very decent tool in the right hands.

This particular mouse comes with a unique, subtle and an elegant multi-zone lighting setup unlike the Roccat Kone XP that blinds its users with a RGB lights. It also gives you a lot of customization options and it is important to mention that the battery life becomes a concern because of its wireless nature.

As far as its Bluetooth life is concerned, you are set to get 50 hours or five 10-hour days in a specific usage manner when the lights are off. With lights on, you will only get around 20 hours using the 2.4 GHz speed.

These results are not ideal because the weight of the mouse is quite heavy and still, it does not give you a huge battery life. It does have a USB Type-C charging option, however; a lot of gamers feel that Qi wireless charging is better.

Overall, we feel that the Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro is a fantastic and comfortable gaming mouse that gives you a lot of space and a nice gaming experience. We’d also claim that Razer Basilisk Ultimate is one of the best gaming mice going around and it also gives a great competition to the Dark Core.

Gaming mice that are made by Corsair are precise and great for overall productivity. Also, we must mention that this gaming mouse is not suitable for people that are looking to continuously play FPS games. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Lost Ark is a great fit for the Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro.

Conclusion: Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro SE

The Dark Core is an efficient all-around wireless gaming mouse that gives you excellent connectivity and a lot of ergonomic feeling. The battery life is not entirely great and the heavy nature of this machine is not suitable for twitch shooters.
