“As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of our users, Google will no longer allow logins on Android devices with Android 2.3.7 or lower from September 27, 2022,”

A line will be drawn by google from September, 27, 2022 and onward that will only affect users on Android 2.3.7 and older devices. This OS was released in Q4 2011 which makes it a decade old. Google now want these users to update the OS of their devices to a newer version(3.0 or higher) in order enjoy continued access to Google apps and other services.

Up to some extent, an alternate solution for those who can not upgrade OS of their devices to newer versions is to try logging into their Google accounts using a web browser. It will give them an alternative access to their account to use Google services on unsupported Android OS devices.
