Tech analysts ‘skeptical’ about 12-inch MacBook Rumour

A couple of weeks ago, some of the most informed agencies have reported that Apple was looking to launch a new 12-inch notebook at the end of 2023 or in the early months of 2024. However, it was not cleared whether the notebook would be a low-end MacBook or a higher-end MacBook Pro.

A few prominent tech giants have revealed that they are not much confident about a new 12-inch MacBook. Currently, the strategy of the company revolves around 13-inch gadgets and larger.

The information we have collected is from some reliable sources and we can claim that Apple is still in the early stages of making a new 12-inch MacBook. The official plans are not revealed yet, however; Apple has been regularly prototyping a plethora of products internally and it is still unclear whether they will be released or not.

“We are skeptical on a 12″ MacBook at this point,” wrote Young, in tweet shared with his Super Followers today. “Apple’s strategy for notebooks is currently 13″ and larger. Companies in the MacBook Pro display supply chain we talked to are not aware of it.”

According to a few prominent sources, Apple’s plans are to include the iPhone 13 Pro’s ProMotion display along with the sixth-generation iPad mini’s 8.3-inch display. Also, they are looking to add the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro’s mini-LED display with ProMotion.

They are also looking to include the new MacBook Air’s slightly larger 13.6-inch display size. We can definitely consider these reports seriously, however; we cannot rule out the leeway of a new 12-inch MacBook.

In the past, Apple had already released both lower-end and higher-end 12-inch notebooks. It has also introduced an ultra-slim 12-inch MacBook that weighed around just two pounds in 2015, however; the notebook was not continued after 2019. In comparison with the low end, the company also released a 12-inch PowerBook G4 in the mid-2000s, that was released before the one and only MacBook Pro.
