We believe that the speakers that are marketed or sold to musicians are going to perform better financially than the normal hardware audiophile. This is partial because bands often have little expendable income, partly because they are too skillful to fill up with ridiculous terminology or specifications. An excellent example of this state of affairs is the PreSonus Eris E4.5 BT Bluetooth speakers.

It is certainly not the best pair in the world but it provides great financial benefits. For a $230 pair of portable display systems, they sound fantastic. The PreSonus E4.5BT provides a lot of variety as you can change your mood along with the sound of the speakers. You can use them in party mode as well as on a slow sad evening. Its been checked along with experts and we were clearly impressed by its quality.

Design and features

The best thing about the design of these E4.5 BT speakers is perhaps the weight they carry. It is very lightweight and you can pick the pair in one of your hands easily. It weighs just 25 pounds. However, it doesn’t mean that these lightweight speakers are cheaply made.

They are properly made and have solid features. The lower frequencies are coming with less resonance and less acoustic coupling. Therefore, there is no need for isolation. In other words, you can put it on a work surface and do not worry much about the bass boosting surface. The lightweight means that they can travel easily from one place to the other.

A 45-inch composite woofer and a 1.0-inch dome tweeter with a combo rating that can be used to replicate frequencies from 70Hz to 20 KHz are included in each rear-porting enclosure. The rotary controls on the left-hand cabinet allow you to dial-up to a 6dB reduction or increase of both high and low frequency. You can thus adapt the E4.5 BT to your acoustic environment, or allow a modest party mode with higher boost rates.

There is no mention of the party mode in any of the descriptions by the PreSonus. You can check it for yourself. It is only based on our assumption. RCA, 1/4-inch TRS (Tip / Ring / Sleeve) and 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) stereo for amplification from smaller devices are part of the inputs.

You can also see above that the driven speakers are wired to a passive AC Jack and a spring clip terminal. For this reason, PreSonus contains a 4-foot, stripped and dimmed zip line. Once control is applied, an on / off load-limiting mechanism prevents audible pops. This is convenient on the front of the left speaker between the volume control, a headset knuckle in case of informal listening and a supplementary signal.

A Bluetooth 5.0 radio feature in PreSonus Eris E4.5 BT and the left channel has a couple of buttons at its end. While Bluetooth can be extremely handy for hearing and casual listening on portable devices, Amazon sold the PreSonus Eris E4.5 at $195 when this article was produced. And if you don’t need wireless streaming or simply want the reliability and fidelity of the wired connections, then go for it.

Performance and sound

We have a lot of friends who help us in picking the right ones and the wrong ones as well. Specialists listen to different kinds of music on the same set of speakers to ensure that every aspect of the gadget is determined properly.

If we talk about the performance of these speakers and also take the sound into notice, then be sure that all the individual instruments and sounds were heard clearly and properly.

You might have to mess around some settings in the buttons behind but once you have set the right setting, you are in for a great musical journey. The Eris E4.5 BT is considered to be a bit light in some mid-range areas, but in an enjoyable manner also, speakers that stress this area will easily fatigue the ears.

Nevertheless, one can conveniently pick different instruments and sounds for which the speakers have been designed and customized. The one drawback of Eris E4.5 BT could be relatively high low-end (70Hz). For most reasons, this is a decent amount of bass, but it doesn’t convey the same experience of bigger speakers.

It should be advise for anyone who uses these for studios mixing and alert everyone to introduce your own high-pass filters because these speakers may not so clearly consider you as large monitors. This is not focusing on PreSonus, but something slightly larger might be in order if you’re only mixing songs.

A good engineer will adapt with a limited amount of experience to the specifics of any decent speaker. If you’re looking to use these speakers at a dance party then you’re going to need a sub-woofer as well. PreSonus offers many subs, but nothing designed specifically to suit its Eris speakers.

To be honest, the majority of listening was a little high and low. If mixed, it requires to keep the EQ low to differentiate between individual instruments, but R.4.5 BTs sounded a tad staid in their default settings to and their high-mileage ears.  At the end, only your ears matter. We liked them and you might like them too.
