Samsung Galaxy Fold September 6 Relaunch Expected in Korea
A report from Yonhap News Agency(via AndroidCentral) suggest that a relaunch of Samsung Galaxy Fold is expect next week in North Korea. To be precise September 6 is reported as the its relaunch date for North Korea. This date is also the opening day for IFA 2019 Berlin trade show.
Releasing a Foldable Smart Phone device has proved to be a big challenge for this manufacturing giant. Its launch and relaunch has been a tough job for them.
It is very likely that IFA will provide Samsung with a platform to show off their redesigned Galaxy Fold device. This could also prove to be a power-play to counter competitor’s Huawei Mate X foldable. We should not forget that Chinese based company is facing challenges after they got banned by Android.
Yonhap has also reported that this foldable device by Samsung will be available in small batches. First batch of this device will provide a shipment of 20k to 30k units. This initial shipment will be available in South Korea. Set price will be somewhere around 2.3 million won. This price is equal to $1,900 USD as per conversion rate at the moment.
Samsung Galaxy Fold is expected to be made available in other countries later this September. Exact date of relaunch is not yet confirmed for other countries at the moment.
Galaxy Fold is expected to have Android OS 9.0 with One UI.
This device is powered by include Snapdragon 855, 12GB RAM and 512 GB Storage on board.
External closed display will be a 4.6 inches (HD+) and main display as 7.3 Inches (QXGA+).
It has a Rear Camera (12-MP wide angle (f/1.5 to f2.4); 12MP telephoto(f/2.4); 16MP ultra-wide (f/2.2), a Front Camera closed 10-MP selfie (f/2.2), Front Camera Open 10-MP selfie (f/2.2); 8-MP RGB depth (f/1.9).
It has a finger print sensor integrated in its power button. It is available in four different colours including Space Silver, Cosmos Black, Martian Green and Astro Blue.
